Globular clusters are my favorite objects in the night sky. Just stars. Lots of stars. This one is NGC 6760, a compact cluster containing an estimated 200.000 stars. These stars were born together and have been moving as a group through the Milky Way ever since. 280x10s subs, SeestarS50.

Compilation of the partial solar eclipse, during the maximum at 12:10 about 24% of the sun was covered. It was a bit of a challenge to take the pictures between the clouds. π π

I observed in Libya, a partial solar eclipse was visible in the Netherlands today. Fortunately, it was clear around the maximum to capture an image.

Today 10 years ago, March 17 2015: my first BIG aurora!π And my first naked eye aurora! It was foggy and humid, but that didnβt spoil the fun. I missed STEVE because I was to focused on the north, but I didnβt know any better back then! π

April 8th, Arkansas USA. I witnessed one of the most unique phenomena in Creation. ..A Total Solar Eclipse. Gazing upwards together with a group of fellow Dutch countrymen and other eclipse chasers, it was an experienceI will treasure for a long time. ..and hopefully be able to witness again..

An impressive cluster of active regions has rotated into view across the NE solar limb. While large & fairly rich in sunspots, these are mostly simple active regions: 3978 - alpha, 3976 - beta, 3977 - beta-gamma. Only 3977 has a more complex configuration, favourable for flares.
