A minor set back today... Finally tested the new system with the work arounds I've spent the last year on. Short story is that it works, but no matter your build you have the same output in combat... Only option is to go to a d100 system so I can save the other mechanics :/

#ttrpg folk, I think I have a way to create custom mixed races for my new game. Is this something you'd like realistic restrictions on, or full freedom to go crazy and make some bizarre mixed races (which will probably result in overpowered characters)?

So we have earned our classes! I unlocked Fighter, Rogue and Barbarian but went with Fighter because the others were more interested in magic characters and we needed a tank. Still need to unlock our background and looking forward to the next layer!

DnD tonight and we're trying something different! Starting only with a race and standard array of stats, we're going to discover our classes as we progress and develop the characters rather than choosing them. Should be interesting!

I think I have it! Core mechanic and progression worked out! Now just to write it up and create some races and backgrounds. Hopefully this means in the next few weeks I'll finally have that second draft ready for alpha testing :)

#TTRPG Folk, when using stats in games, do you prefer broken down stats or an overview statistic? i.e. in DnD5e, instead of having sleight of hand, you'd just roll a Dexterity check if it was just an overview statistic

Does anyone else think it's strange that the main theme for Dark Fantasy is bad weather? Why can't you have bright glorious sunshine?? Does this mean that monsters are only evil because they have SAD??? If you know a dark fantasy setting that isn't mist or cloudy, please let me know!

I need to get back into making maps... too many side projects and real life events getting in the way. Slowly turning my last campaign into a new TTRPG is a mechanical nightmare but brings a chance to remake my world map. Really looking forward to that!

There are quite a lot of world maps out there which look great but then you see that they're just Europe or America... nothing wrong in taking inspiration from the real world, but where there are clear cartography skills in use it would be great to see a novel landmass structure!

It's great to be playing DnD again! After nearly 8 years of DMing I've found a group where I can be a PC. Loved playing a Ranger for the introduction to Tyrany of Dragons, but enjoying being a Warlock in a new homebrew campaign even more! Game night tonight and we gain a new player!

If it seems like small creators are constantly on the promotion cycle, it's because we kind of have to be or we can't stay afloat. I try to mix it up with humor, advice, silly memes, and so on but I always have to circle back to promotion in short order to keep the lights on.
