A lot of game designers talk about hitting on a niche to make something “commercially viable.” But what about this: make a game for a single, specific person. Someone you love, a family member, etc. Literally a game that’s only meant for one person to ever play

Games are such an important medium - and here’s proof! Why was The Tarot devised as a card game? Because it was the easiest way to distribute the symbology to the people. Hiding in the game was a project where priests hid all of their knowledge

Maybe game design is about poetry. Maybe it’s about people. The quest built for one person, or a group of people. Something not repeatable. The games between people. Folk games. Games for the soul. Digital doesn’t matter. Art and digital games are not pervasive until they pervade everyday life.
