I keep seeing people saying, "Ah, well. Time to comm artists who can draw." 3D artists are artists, too. There is no difference comming a shirt for a mod, versus comming art of your character. It's both fanart, done in the context of an IP that is not yours. To say "just comm an artist" is tonedeaf.
