Yesterday was completely re-thinking aiming - Instead of picking a target in an area, you pull back on the analog to increase cast strength. Less "perfect aim" precision, but the player can adjust it as it flies. Still needs UI too.. Drop-cast is also folded into the same input now too 😤 #gamedev

Figured it out. It perfectly encapsulates all of the incredible feelings I had when I first booted up Ragnarok Online in 2002 and World of Warcraft in 2004. The sense of wonder and exploration of a brand new hand crafted world. Before games were figured out months before launch.

This is possibly the most insane UI I've ever worked on. Everything had to stay live and feel tactile. But then when you expand a node it needed to become a regular 2D UI, all while juggling relative positions to the 3D objects, like some sort of 2.5D space 😵‍💫🤯
