Color me disappointed. Very watered down Green Day. Took out all reference to the government in Holiday and took out the whole redneck/MAGA agenda in American Idiot. I mean, the MAGA thing admittedly might have been too much? But Holiday was written years ago. So was American Idiot.

Occasionally, I peek at comments on X and on Facebook. It’s horrifying. People applauding the lack of due process. Happy about children being snatched from schools because they are “illegal”. Second graders who came here as infants and have no idea what is going on. We are a lost nation.

Today my train went past a church.The church parking lot was filled with tables of food to be handed out. The line to get in stretched two city blocks. I thought “Oh my God” as my train passed it. I’ve taken that same train every day for seven years and never saw that same sort of line before.

My kids and husband have been volunteering at a cat rescue for eight years now. Every Saturday for eight years. Some higher up yahoo there just named two new stray kittens that need to be adopted 47 and 48. Effectively alienating 50% of their prospective adopters. I kid you not. It’s a cult.
