The New Jersey Devils sit 21st overall with 83 points and 4 games remaining. They are eliminated from playoff contention. The Calgary Flames are 30th overall, with 73 points and 5 games remaining, and yet are still in the hunt (mathematically). The West is simply ridiculously bad this year.

I still think firing Dubas was the big mistake that got us here. They should have fired Keefe and let Dubas make the Marner trade. If it still went badly from there, then you let Dubas go. Instead, they sat on a formula that didn't work for an extra year, then hired a guy that made it worse.

The Leafs win, but Anaheim still got a point in their quest for a division title, the fall to bottom 5 got more difficult, and Gudas left under his own power. That's a lot of losses for a win.

That Leaf win improved the playoff chances of both the Habs and the Sens, and also improved the chances of Boston taking the Leafs' 1st-round pick. I don't think they've had a more disastrous win.

If the Leafs finish 27th by one or two points, it would be perfectly fitting that the reason is because they couldn't lose to the team to whom they'll need to surrender their draft pick. Also fitting that Boston desperately needs this win, but they're willing to let it go for the chance to screw TO.

This is too bad. The show was way better than a lot of people expected it to be. I don't know why there was such a hate campaign aimed at this show. Most of it started well before it even aired, so they were just hating for hate's sake, without even seeing if the show would actually be good or not.
