Q9: #ParkChat We love sharing photos from our travels, but as AI becomes more common, we’ve been thinking about how much viewers can trust what they see. Is AI generated art about nature still “nature art”? Where’s the line between enhancing a photo vs fabricating one?

Q8: #ParkChat Our two dogs are family, and we love bringing them along on adventures when trails and parks allow. One is a senior and the other has endless energy. For those who explore parks with your dogs: what’s one piece of dog gear you never hike without, and why?

Q7: #ParkChat Ads push new gear promising to be lighter, faster, smarter, etc. But sometimes the older stuff works just fine (if not better). What older piece of gear do you still trust more than the newer versions? Why has it earned that trust for you?

Q6: #ParkChat Most of our hikes are out-and-back, and we haven’t done an overnight backpacking trip yet. For those who have: what nighttime animal sounds were the hardest to get used to? Did they ever keep you awake?

Q5: #ParkChat We climbed Half Dome in 2022 and there was a moment going up the cables when I thought I couldn’t do it. What was the hike that changed your risk tolerance? What happened? Are you working to overcome the emotion and give it a go later on?

Q4: #ParkChat While we hiked in the Smokies, a severe thunderstorm rolled in, the trail became a river & we became very focused on getting out safely. Was there a time when your trip was suddenly impacted by weather. Was it an unanticipated thunderstorm, tornado, snow storm, etc? What did you do?

Q3: #ParkChat We love exploring our Public Lands, but safety is always a priority (water, good gear, & reliable communication). Does relying on GPS & satellite communication make us safer, or have we outsourced so much of our intuition that we’d feel lost if they stopped working?

Q2: #ParkChat Has the ability to check the weather and trail conditions in real time prevented us from learning (or made us lose) the ability to read the sky and the ground? Or have we just traded one skill for another?
