Remember: There is nothing natural or inevitable about extreme inequality; it’s the result of an economic system that values wealth and power over human dignity and justice. It doesn't have to be this way.

Cliché & basic point, i know, but it's really fucked up how many people refuse to ask "but how will we pay for that" about war & jail shit. Like they fully & fundamentally accept & believe in endless money taps for killing & jailing & hurting other people, but not like… food or medicine or housing.

It’s cool how we just live in a death cult world and we’re supposed to act like it’s okay. Like yeah man apparently it’s cool to burn children alive 24/7 so that billionaire parasites out of touch with reality can get more money. Why are you being weird about it?

Every review of a basic income pilot seems hellbent on "did they reduce their working hours? Well did they? Huh?!" And I'm saying maybe we're ALL better off when we can ALL calibrate our days to healthier outcomes and the economic breathing room of a solid floor helps there.

We really don't have a stable safe use site here in Winnipeg. There are a few mobile safe use services, there are some grassroots groups who do pop up safe use sites, but we don't have a permanent presence for this purpose, & that's a big problem. People who don't understand addictions block paths.

Can we take a moment to really think about exactly what UBI would accomplish? Universal Basic Income provides workers with leverage. It would allow me to tell employers "sorry, this pay-rate is too low, I'm going to keep withholding my labor until your pay-rate improves."
