When there’s a disaster, the last “man” standing should be the health system. Ready to help people. Instead, 25% of it will be underwater. Flooded A&Es have already been turning people away. Ambulances have been washed away. Health leaders have been asleep at the wheel on climate resilience.

I have read A LOT of books on navigating the emotional impacts of the climate crisis This is one I’ve found most helpful to date. Not only is it beautifully written, I felt “seen” reading it AND it provided me with a distillations of approaches to reframing my emotions in this work. A must read

The issue is restoring doctors' trust in the GMC, not the public's trust in doctors protesting against climate change and its many health linkages. "If a [protest] law—pushed by powerful fossil fuel interests—is widely seen as unjust, breaking it might not undermine trust."
