The Horses of Hoofprint Bay demo has been played by over 31'000 people for a median of 3h and 24min within 4 weeks and idk man I just think that's really good numbers for a game by a debut studio in a niche genre and I would really love for games media to pick up on it 😤

Sooo this is what we made during our weekend tiny horse game jam: lajiao.itch.io/luxicorn-and... Rougher and shorter than we would have liked it to be, but hey it's something! And already released a patch with minor improvements!

so this weekend I joined the tiny horse game jam on the @themanequest.com server and took over the animation of our main character unicorn. Painted in Procreate, but rigged and animated in @godotengine.org with the 2D skeleton - still lots to iron out, but it's a walk cycle!

Quickly testing out software and/or functionality for game jams can result in hilarious art pieces :D In this case I was testing Godot's 2D skeleton - hope I learned enough, so the next thing will look decent^^

Sooo... You know how as a horse owner you are faced with constant worries about the wellbeing of your horse, next to all the "normal" stuff everyone experiences? Decided to make a smol game out of it, a "SorrowManager" , where you're trying to deal with the stress of all the thoughts in your head.

Nice! A horse game breaking out of the usual horse game box shows that horse games can actually be interesting to so many people out there! Well done <3

This is exactly what I meant when asking for horse games with purpose - this is not just a horse girl's dream to "have a horse" (also totally valid btw), but brings variety into the horse game genre - and is probably also interesting to non-horse-people! Demo available on Steam!

I "finished" my survivor practice game, just built it far enough so you can play. There's still a lot missing: more abilities, a textured background, bug fixes and of course art style consistent assets (or any proper assets). But it's something that got done at least 🥳 lajiao.itch.io/lone-survivor

A few months ago I cursed and suffered when I had to do UI. Now, it's actually kinda relaxing to build it! Ofc, still just basic functionality, not yet pretty, but I like doing it :D

Built something very not-exciting today - level up UI! By now this practice project is giving me the feeling that I need to build a better code structure in order to be able to reference everything in a cleaner way. Well, I definitely know what my former coder-colleagues were preaching now😂

Things that I kinda expected to happen in some way but hoped wouldn't: Finally managed to add another ability from an ability pool via picking up a chest - but this breaks the boomerang ability. Probably because they all use the same single bullet code. Well, on to debugging 💗

Currently I'm working on my vampire survivors like practice project in Godot. The basic setup went smoothly enough, and I felt smart about the first ability I built. Of course it doesn't feel great yet, but the basic functionality is there 🥳 Then however, ...
