Out today: The Search for Camelot. This episode is very dear to us because it is inspired my our dear dad’s love of The Idylls of the King by Tennyson. Listen in for a discussion of the literary and historical roots of Camelot.

You may have noticed that we’ve been very quiet recently. Our dear dad has been very ill and he sadly passed away over the weekend. We’re going to delay the next episode for another week to allow us some space to come to terms with this loss.

Our episode this week is a tribute to our dad, who has been very unwell recently. When I was a child his favourite quote was the classic from Tennyson’s La Morte D’Arthur. ‘Thé old order changeth, yielding place to new.’

It’s a bit quiet at Wyrd Folk HQ as we’re both trying to finish novels before the end of the month. So we going to be putting out a short on Camelot instead of the advertised episode on Borley Rectory. Sorry for the late switch!

It’s English village fete season. The time of year where villages up and down the country are dusting off their maypoles, getting the WI to mass bake Victoria sponges and dragging the hook a duck out of the back of the shed. What does your village call this festival? Is it a wake? A fete?

It’s the first of May! Beltane for some but mostly and excuse for villages all Over the country to dust off their maypoles. We’ll be at Offenham Wake later, the finest of traditional wake celebrations.

The Meta AI story is so disheartening. Writer work for years, decades, alone to hone their craft and Meta have just stolen it out from underneath them for their own profit. And it seems like nothing can be done about this piracy because Meta have no masters and fear no consequences. Heartbreaking.
