The #LabyrinthWalk quilt is finally completed and gifted, and my son loves it! I employed a fair amount of cussing, ripping, and re-sewing and learned about the errors/imprecise choices I make most often. Really pleased with the results but not in a hurry to make another. #quiltsky #guiltyquilter

This quilt got finished and gifted without taking glamour shots. It was made using Villa Rosa's Twinkle pattern, with added blue borders. I picked up a double charm pack at a yard sale and don't remember the fabric line. #quiltsky #villarosa #twinkle

Quilt progress! Got borders on 10 min after the studio was supposed to close, so no time to snap a photo of the completed top. This has a couple of borders that extend/unify the labyrinth, and then a nice 6" finished black border, and will be bound in black. Finish ETA: end of August. #LabyrinthWalk

Just a little sketch for a gift quilt. I'm thinking to add a 3" border so it comes out as 45" square. Is that big enough for a small throw or should I go bigger? I'm not a throw user. This isn't the only quilt I need to make this month! I guess I could add 2" sashing? #quiltsky #artadventcalendar

Hello, #quiltsky friends! I think I want to use a combination of machine and #handquilting on the #artquilt in my avatar because the darkest parts are 8 layers of fabric+pellon. I would love to hear about what materials you enjoy for hand quilting, and why using a hoop does or doesn't work for you!

My current WIP, at the quilter's right now. Hopefully I can get it bound and shipped before Christmas. This panel is from Northcott fabrics, and as soon as I saw it advertised by my LQS I knew I had to have it. It reminds me of home (Mendocino county, CA). Kaffe's Ammonites below became the backing.

I haven’t heard Try This In A Small Town yet, but good lord the conservative mythologizing of rural places is exhausting I’m a left-and-came-back queer parent in a small town where I reported on local news for years, and am now a first responder. I love this f’d-up place, stop writing us out of it

These two songs get to the essence of Two Americas for me: the one mythical, violent, and exclusive to all but white men; the other aspirational but also realistic, becoming more honest as the song goes on.

Thread: Fascinating to me that “Try This in a Small Town” is popular at the same time as a cover of “Fast Car.” The first is an invocation of a false nostalgia for an idealized rural America that never existed.
