Zero day. Do nothing Sunday. This follows a fab St. Valentine’s bash in the campsite bar. Around eighty Snowbirds of a certain age partied like it was 1999. It helped a lot that the meal included wine, and the Spanish vocalist was a favourite rebooked. What a great night, & slow recovery! 🪩🍷💘

It’s quiz night! Well, firstly, we have to get through musical bingo, which is a similar thing but instead of numbers, you have to circle an artist or a song title, having heard a clip. There are some confident people here for these contests, & all for a tiny bag of jelly babies! ➡️ Friday!🍺 🤷🏻‍♂️🎶

Bingo this aft(!) Not my idea, but there are wine prizes so my hand is forced! Straight after that, Salsa and Bachata. Might need the vino for hip lubrication, remains to be seen… An interesting period on the Costa Dorada, albeit a lot different from my favourite Costa Blanca. Making memories!

So it begins. The hi-ab crane couldn’t get under the railway bridge at the entrance to the site, so they’re having to attack the tree branch by branch with a chainsaw. Won’t be extracting that (formerly) nice motorhome today… ⚠️

Very strange staying at a seasonal resort in Jan/Feb. The pitches have been flooded, and high winds have brought devastation. Luckily, a select group of club members rally round to make the most of a difficult job, and it’s been a limited success. BYOB quiz tonight! (In a useable room!) 🍷 🤔 📋❓

Managed to get out for a walk after having swept all the leaves and re-tightened the guy ropes… This beach is a skip and a jump (not even a hop!) from our pitch. Mostly deserted except for a couple of dog owners exercising their animals today. Off to the local town on the bike tomorrow. 🏍️ ☀️

Literally blowing a gale here on our latest stop. The awning’s surviving, but windbreak is looking the worse for wear! Luckily, we’re slightly sheltered by trees and other units so could be worse. Zumba this morning in the gym; indoor BBQ tonight in the restaurant. No chance of bike riding! 🌬️ 🏍️

Going here tomorrow. Right by the beach. They’ve had some flooding issues, so I won’t be parked at the sand, but not far. Over four hours drive from one site to the other, although still in Spain. Another adventure begins… 🚐…

My my! 🎵 The day has arrived! Almost as exciting as Eurovision itself, this evening brings the much anticipated ABBA party! Great news for those lucky enough to have secured tickets! 🎟️ 190 admission slots sold in 15 minutes proves the demand. I’ll be adjusting the wig and shiny shirt later… 🕺

Yesterday, the hypnotist didn’t turn up. No-one saw that coming! 😵‍💫 Instead they drafted in (at the last minute) a singer who was very good. Everyone had a better time than they might have done anyway! Tonight, Happy Hour, then another vocalist, so our ride continues! ➡️The diet starts tomorrow!

Eagerly anticipated today, Indian Street Food night! For a small fee, a select few can sample a specially prepared dish from the sub-continent, accompanied by an appropriate beverage, alcoholic or not. Straight after that, we defend the Curling Cup won last week. Comedy noises anticipated! 🍛🍷

Well, we came third in the quiz tonight, so a good effort. More importantly, I managed to obtain two tickets for Saturday’s ABBA party! Bring… It… On..! 🕺 🎶

Go on then. We’ve come within one point of victory two weeks running, so tonight we find out if we’ve peaked or not. Every chance of that, I suspect, as there’ll be more bodies involved this evening, due to the site being pretty full now. But you have to give it a go, don’t you..?!

Been for brunch at Polly’s Bar in Torreveija. Recommended for quality, economy, and friendliness, if you’re that way. Bruno Brooks’ hits of the 8Os playing! 🎶 〰️ 🌞 Tonight, the clubhouse is hosting a 60s evening. Some Beatles tunes always appreciated! 🎵

Last night, with a Happy Hour and a half, was great fun. Nobody really minded the almost constant 20 minute queue to get a round of drinks… After all, we’re British! Obviously, buy most of the evening’s supply early on… Had a jig about on the dance floor too. Total spend: a tenner! #Bargain 💶

At last the sun is appearing on the Costa Blanca. I might even remove my jumper, although I can’t promise… Some lucky campers have gone on a 30 mile cycle ride(!) whilst others caught the early bus into Alicante. I’m still coming down from winning last night’s curling..🥌!! Happy Hour later! 🥂🍻
