Everyone should upload thousands of white noise audio into Suno and generate tracks with the prompt "synthwave", so the algorithm starts to lean towards noise when generating synthwave in the future, no longer poisoning the scene with trash. If you can't defeat an algorithm, compromise it.

Producing techno, hard to swallow pill: it's not 2003 anymore, 8 minute long tracks are rarely justified. If you can drop 2 full minutes from the track, and it still sounds good and whole, then drop it.

#synthwave #rant I'm all against AI generated crap, but it baffles me how we immediately hate on starting out bedroom producers for making an album cover art with AI, and then a band like Gunship gets praised for literally stealing 80s action movie scenes and calling it a music video.

Trivia: so the visualizer for "The Ride Of Your Life" was not made in an editor. I programmed the whole thing in javascript, in an arbitrary parallax game engine I threw together just for this 🤷‍♂️ Then processed a screen recording in Sony Vegas for the pixelated low-bit color VHS look.

I'm gonna be a dickhead, but I see a lot of people posting their music with a preamble like "I've been making music for a long time, and now I tried synthwave" and then the track sounds absolutely ass. How tf have these people been making music "for a long time" then??
