I’m not someone who likes to be (or can be, really) in the crowds at NYE celebrations, but I love the energy & seeing fireworks from afar. I love where I live because starting now, I can look out of my window & see little pops of fireworks going off throughout the mountains 🖤 I love it so much

I also saw a guaraguao (hawk) and for the first time saw 4 guinea (helmeted guineafowl) including one white one today! I think it’s pretty auspicious for New Year’s Eve 🖤

When we say “listen to disabled people” we mean *listen*. Not “demand extra labor from disabled people.” I think people believe that listening is a passive activity. It’s not. It requires work on the listener’s part. It’s work to read and pull on threads, to stretch our brains, to be empathetic.

we just released a major episode: covid year six it took over a year to produce, and now it's off being professionally transcribed so more people can access it once it's unlocked. that transcription will cost over $300, and to break even on the transcript alone we need ~60 new patreon supporters...

I have to also. When I have moments where I lose hope, because I definitely do, I think about Erin and Lily and Tinu and Alice and Molly and all the disabled people we’ve lost who fought so hard- and taught us how- to make a better world for disabled people. Their crip fire fuels my crip fire.

I’ll never understand how Liz’s perfect explanation here doesn’t make sense to people. I’m an ambulatory wheelchair user without a wheelchair currently. Not having that tool doesn’t mean I can’t walk, but it does mean I can’t participate in many things. It means my life is very small.
