Everyone talks about “Camp Damascus” by Chuck Tingle, but I have not seen nearly enough love for “Straight”. I’ve listened to it three times in two months and finally got a copy off ThriftBooks and am now reading it again lol.

This was a big thing for me, and I was lucky to have an affirming doctor and therapist, who both helped me to accept my body’s inherent differences and that helped me finally begin my medical transition. Biology, etc. is complex, well beyond what we learn in high school.

I may have been traumatized by my experience with the LDS church, and I carry generations behind me of deeply troubled theology from the LDS church, and yet I still do not think anyone should be gunned down in church, or anywhere for that matter. I’m tired of people being shot. Period.

One of the things I don't like about Medium as a platform for my writing, is that I can't afford the subscription to be able to read a majority of the posts on their. My membership lapsed again, and now I can only read like a quarter of the content. This is partially why I don't paywall my writing.

Why does it have to cost $10,000 out of pocket, minimum, for me to get top surgery? This is stupid. I'm at the point were I may have to just accept that I won't ever be able to afford it.

If people put even half as much energy into saving trans people as they did saving Jimmy Kimmel, we'd have this all fixed! We have seen the power of collective action when it comes to entertainment. Let's apply that towards trans civil rights!

I cannot stand this vpn stuff. IDK if I am just not tech savvy or what, but this connecting my desktop, and then having to disconnect to print anything is so annoying. Am I doing something wrong? Or is it because I am not willing to pay more than $4 a month that this is just what it is.

I really had some personal reflection in this one, & am gladly sharing some with y'all! Regardless of your personal denomination, or even if you aren't a Christian at all, I'd love to hear your thoughts. I aim never aiming to convert or convince, I'm just a gay havin some fun with the Bible.

You know the world is a wild place when it's 7am and I am researching safety measures for trans folks in the current state of things. I hate this.

It's book club night, and I am excited to chit chat.

I believe this to my core. They're using trans people as a test case to dismantle individual rights in the US.

This is a prayer I wrote at the request of my church, for our Sunday service on the 14th of this month. I am not capable of truly sympathizing with CK, but this prayer represents both where we fall short as humans, and also what we strive for in progress and the fight of social justice & equality.

Do I share the prayer I wrote for the Prayer of The People last Sunday at church? Do I dare risk that guys name being in anything I publish? Even if it's a prayer... which doesn't sugar coat who he was.

I was chatting over tea with my current home church Pastor, and they said "Well, that's the scandal of grace, isn't it?" We were talking about the deep seeded belief I have that I am in fact worthless, and a bad person. This is the essay that resulted, not flashy, but an honest look into my faith.

I came to a thought today while reading through the Gospel of Matthew, & that thought is that some people really need to reread the Gospels. I just think some people claiming to be popular Christians are not as familiar with scripture as they should be with the amount of influence they seem to have.

The board overseeing a new state-funded complex to promote shooting sports near Cody is disputing claims of rising costs. Financial troubles are shuttering Cheyenne's YMCA, a community hub first opened in 1958. Powell is mulling a new master plan while the Park Service wants to hear from visitors.

There won't be any new posts on my Medium account this week, as I didn't get any work done last week in the state of things, & at the cost of taking care of myself & my loved ones first and foremost. I also don't want to rush my review of the Gospel of Matthew, I would rather it be late than subpar.

Too be honest it can be hard to keep going when it feels like i am writing to the void, and then a piece will get just one or two comments, or likes, or shares, and I will feel like I have done something worth doing. So thank you, to the small, but powerful, pool of folks enjoying my words.

I'm reading "Tears of Things" by Richard Rohr in a book club with my church, and would you believe, the first prophet talked about is Amos! Here's some of my thoughts on Amos in the light of current events. It's not a heavy read, the review or the book itself, let me know what ya' think!
