The @mta.maryland.gov is investing in new vehicles! This morning, I caught a new Metro car & this afternoon a new hybrid bus. We are also evaluating bids for replacement Light Rail vehicles & battery electric MARC locomotives. New vehicles will improve reliability across the system!

Caught the @mta.maryland.gov Metro this morning & it was one of our new railcars!As we continue to receive more cars, riders will see the legacy trains gradually replaced with new ones. We anticipate having 9 railcars available this month & weekend service will be all new trains.

It's @mta.maryland.gov MARC Monday! Started the day with easy transfers from 54->Gold->Penn Station. Ran into neighbors & friends on the street & the bus. Got work done on the train. Transit creates opportunities for chance interactions and frees up time to do other things!

Heads up @mta.maryland.gov Light Rail riders! Our maint. team was replacing rail last night & a piece of equipment failed causing us to stop work. Our team is making the fix now. Full service will restore within a few hours.

Because of our unwavering commitment to delivering for Maryland, Governor Wes Moore & others were excited to mark the final installation of Purple Line's rail. When Governor Wes Moore first took office, the project was just under 50% complete. Now, Purple Line is 90 percent complete!

People have been asking for the Purple Line for over a decade. Today, we put the FINAL piece of rail in the ground. Thanks to everyone who made this milestone possible and delivered on a project that’s been stalled for far too long.

The @mta.maryland.gov leadership team is spending the morning checking out the progress on the @purplelinemd.bsky.social project. Our first stop was at the LEED certified Glenridge Operations & Maintenance facility. All 28 vehicles are at the facility & testing is ongoing.

The @mta.maryland.gov team is doing spring cleaning and maintenance across the system. I spied our crew at Convention Center Light Rail this morning cleaning, making repairs and updates.
