after much resistence I finally got some of those Nintendo Switch Online retro controllers. N64 and Gamecube to be exact. I also ordered adapters so I can use them on real hardware, just in case I remember paying for subscriptions to access these old games is stupid.

It's actually easier to get medals in expert mode of Star Fox since there's more enemies. Though good luck surviving area six since they're also more aggressive. And I almost got a game over to Star Wolf on Venom II and Andross himself, they got really buffed.

Anyway, I finally saw Godzilla Minus One. I enjoyed it but it feels like the fans overhyped it. I tend to prefer good-guy Godzilla and think the first movie was the best solo Godzilla movie.

That first picture perfectly illustrates half of what I hate about Yoshi's design from the N64 up until more recent games. Riding an upright creature piggyback just does not look as natural as the more hunched down dinosaur Yoshi. The other half is in the third picture. Front facing Yoshi.

Probably not a good sign that, not only does being home bring down my mood, but knowing I will soon have to go home, like at the end of being with friends, or even a work shift, will bring my mood down, I'm only really truly happy at home when everyone is either asleep or gone.

A bunch of old Sonic OCs that I killed off many years ago because fan characters are too limiting, now repurposed to fit in with my new world of OCs. I missed some of these guys. They probably are going to be extremely unimportant to my new world though. Just background fillers realy.

Maybe not so impressive as on N64 since I can just abuse the level reset but I got all the medals in Star Fox on normal mode, I don't think I have ever got a medal before tbh. I'll attempt Expert eventually but if it's as hard to get medals as expert challenge mode is, I don't fancy my chances.

One one hand, i'm glad that a lot of the things I like are not dead and continue getting new entries to this day. On the other hand... it's a little upsetting how hard it can be to "Marathon the whole series" without feeling burned out by some of them.

As a Nintendo fan I'm really starting to feel the pain of people who play games that have "Dailies" and "limited time events" not to mention all those games where you need to check each day because the shops change their stock daily. Make it stop please.

I've seen a few people say the Ocarina of Time remake's realistic aesthetic is like the promo art/ads from 1998 and I gotta say I respectfully disagree. The stuff back then was very stylized and anime-adjacent, imo a game chasing this look wouldn't look like the trailer we got

Yeah no, sorry, I've looked at the Ocarina of Time screenshots now that they're up in HD and I don't like what I see... obviously I'll judge it more when we get more of a look, but I went from cautious optimism to resigned pessimism. I don't care for this change in art direction.
