This is something I talked with Kartily recently, a phenomenon she called "the lacking artist", the ones who replace other fields with AI: the writer using AI for illustrations, the visual artist using AI for narration, and so on... Instead of making it a chance for a neat collaboration.

I opened one of the many job-searching websites I have an account on. Not gonna lie: checking past submissions and seeing some of them from almost a year ago with no answer whatsoever kinda depressed me.

Okay, funny story: my wife and I both got new headphones for Christmas. I got mine from my dad, and she got hers from me.

Today is #MeetTheWebcomic day, and it's a good chance for reading "She is Renée". Now Renée is in a semi-hiatus for Holidays, but new comics are in production as I write this.

So... Today my retail job came to an end. I know many people here have opinions about working in retail, but I needed this experience, and I think I did well. I hope to secure a definitive job soon.

Tomorrow my temporary work comes to an end. However, I'm already sending some CVs to those same stores to see if I can secure a stable job.

Sorry for the radio silence, but these days I've been working at the mall selling speakers and headphones. For the first time in ages, I have an actual job (even if it's temporary for the holidays) instead of speculative gigs.

I've already had a hard time finding a job. This makes it more difficult. If I don't get a stable one until March, I'm cooked.

Today is election day and I feel... not so well...

A great thing here is that CVs aren't required to include a photo to avoid discrimination. Of course, companies found a workaround: on internet, they ask for videos of presentation. Yikes.

Question here: Which paper do you recommend for making comics for a book? Deleter? Bristol? Anything else?

Remember when everyone mocked people for listening to music on their phone speakers out loud? Now everyone (including those who mocked) watches TikTok blasting out of their phones. Getting rid of headphone jacks was a mistake.

Today (November 18), I almost missed Renée's birthday. And now she's having her cake. She may be the only character of mine that has a canon birthday date, and there's a good reason: that's when I created the Procreate file where I sketched her for the first time some years ago.

Revisiting this post since last night, a presidential candidate saluted another one for her birthday, and they said "danke schön" to each other. We get it, you're of German descent (just like me btw so it's not impressive).

So, there was a big extended family reunion, commemorating 170 years since the arrival of our ancestors in Chile (and quite important here in southern Chile). And I didn't know about it until the same damn day it happened. I'm fine. Yup, totally fine. Totally cool with that info.

Yesterday was Chile's National Day. And also today. And probably all this week. Today, there's a special #SheIsRenée comic set during this day at school (it is usually celebrated some days prior in schools), and will have a special something.

Here in Chile there has been quite a revolt because it was discovered that an executive of one of the major TV channels has been moonlighting as a troll on X attacking political adversaries. It's like finding out Catturd was a Paramount executive the whole time.
