This is really good news for Thames Water customers. Predatory KKR was so bad they were nicknamed "Barbarians at the gate" in the US. It is time the government stopped dithering and took Thames Water into public ownership. It's what 82% of the public wants.

Just seeing the RCT 'scandal' brewing among econs again. This is not a question about some bad apples or some instances of malpractice. The RCT industry has been completely distorted from its inception in Econ and this is closely tied to the incentive structure of the discipline.

Things always become more clear when reading Marx. Here he argues that bourgeois culture produces its antithesis in the form of anti-industrial romanticism (that doesn't threaten capitalism as it's rooted in a past that never was). An early critique of decolonial theory!

On immigration, Labour seems poised to learn the wrong lessons from Trump’s victory - and make the far right more likely to win in the UK, too. But there's a different path.
