Frankly, we couldn't have done it without you Cody. Together, we saw 65 voice actors (and a dog(yes, really)) as characters across over 20 visual novels. I think this may have been our community's biggest push for the advancement for creating opportunities for VNDevs and voice actors.

When you've been running and judging for jams for nearly a decade, you learn to either optimize your workflow, or get real comfortable with bulk downloading. I showed a few curious jammers the output of the python I used to capture, catalog and verify all of the #Spooktober2025 submissions.

I try really hard not to get involved in whatever bullshit people are saying about trans people, but it's very hard to stay quiet when all I want to do is make visual novel stuff but everyone keeps blaming trans people for shit we're not even involved in. Trans people aren't hurting anyone.

I promise I'm not complaining about having a thing work successfully, but this really isn't what I was expecting I've never sold 100+ of anything ever, and the one time I set up a soft limiter on something by introducing a price barrier, it sells 115 things when I projected 50. What the shit.

This is easily the most kitchen sink effect I've made to date. It's a full VHS effect, similar to the one in my OG pack, except it's all of it in one, plus the digital glitching and now full VHS banding. Going to try to release the full pack soon.

This is actually a really silly effect, not because of what it is, but because of what it isn't. This is a grid of 1920x1080 slices of the images, shuffled and jittered out of place.

Got a pretty stinging job rejection today. Two interviews in, felt like we really hit it off and I'm an extremely good fit for it, and they had 3 openings for this role. Felt really promising, then today they called and rejected me without much feedback. It's getting scary for us.

Tomorrow I'll be releasing my Make Visual Novels! Speech Bubble Tools for RenPy over on itch. These tools address some of the issues with managing and editing bubbles. It adds presets you can save & apply, uses drop down menus to select styles, and comes with a script to bake IDs into your lines.

I'm thinking about going back to making videos and streaming. Any thoughts on what kind of videos I should make? I want to stick in the realm of visual novels, but there's a lot I could talk about, and even more things that I have opinions on.
