my microphone choices in the studio these days are much more about what TYPE of mic (LDC v SDC, ribbon, dyn) than brand or model it's pretty rare for a mic to be completely wrong, almost anything can work, just get to the music if I hear one more soloed kick drum for an hour while picking mics 🥵

Artists who have their music on Bandcamp (and are being sucked up in the Songtradr catalog) would do well to look into the history of Pump Audio & Jingle Punks and the obscene values at which those soulless aggregators ended up selling for... on the backs of 1000s of artists who simply had no idea.

Starting in iOS 17, Apple Music now displays “Song Credits” which can provide detailed information about who worked on and played on certain songs and releases. It’s a small but long overdue step in bringing accurate credits (and credits in general) to the digital world.
