Parents who have kids who are newly 18+ … how do you all do it? My youngest is 19 and making choices that seem reckless and downright dangerous to me. Every time I’ve tried to talk to her about it, she gets defensive, mad at me, and shuts down communication.

This season was a tough climb to infinite, but I eventually got there in the early morning hits today (thanks, insomnia!). Played Shards and The Drip for most of the climb (63-low 90’s). Spider Foom took me over the top (after I fell back to 88).

My wife and I had a fun afternoon yesterday at our local coffee shop. We played two more games of the cooperative campaign of Dorfromantik: The Board Game. Such a relaxing experience. And it’s fun to unlock special tiles and achievements throughout the campaign.

Last night, I had the privilege and joy to play a 4-player game of Arcs by @leder.games. Such a great design! I absolutely loved the unique card play. We played w/ the Leaders & Lore expansion and the asymmetric leaders/lore added a fun layer of additional strategy. I look forward to playing again!

December is off to a rough start for me. Since we had family plans this weekend, I opted to just enjoy my time & not think about Friday - when my department was reorganized and my position was eliminated at work. I no longer work for TeeTurtle/Unstable Games. I’m numb w/ no clue where I’ll land.

I’m trying to fight through this odd sense of dread - like something bad is on the horizon - that has settled in my mind today. No idea what triggered it, but having a tough time shaking the feeling that something bad is going to happen soon.

Today was the day we’ve been dreading. We helped Lily, our 16-year-old basset hound, cross the rainbow bridge today. She’d been in my life for 8+ years. It’ll be a while before I feel ok.

Good thoughts being sent to Sheffield United captain, Chris Basham. That injury is horrific. Definitely season-ending. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s career-ending.

Left home at 3am. Got to the airport at 3:45 only to realize I left my wallet at home. Go home, get wallet, get back to airport at 5:10 (flight at 6:22). Rush through baggage check and security in time to make flight. Flight cancelled. Rebooked for 4:20 this afternoon. 9 hours at the airport to go!

My anxiety is through the roof today. I fly to NYC tomorrow morning and - before this morning - I was super excited for the trip. I'm sure it will be great once I get going, but I'm sort of dreading it now.

After four days away, I’m happy to be home. But not happy to be at my house. That probably doesn’t make any sense.

Carrying a lot of weights today. A close family member’s in the hospital for heart-related issues. I miss my kids like crazy. My senior dog is not doing well today. I don’t enjoy my house/home. I feel guilty for not having put out any content in months. I’ll make it through. Just need to vent a bit.

Played scenario 3 of Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion today. My Hatchet ran out of cards and ended up exhausted. However, my wife’s Voidwarden was able to force the final enemy to move into a trap for the victory. Really enjoying our time together playing through this campaign.
