Starmer is clearly a thoroughly decent man, dedicated to public service. Those are necessary but not sufficient qualities to succeed as PM. His biggest failing was becoming an administrator, “working the problem”, too preoccupied with cos-playing Reform, when we needed a visionary to make change.
