One thing about me people find strange is I hate watching movies in the daytime. But here I am in an industrial park for EVIL DEAD BURN, because the podcast demands it.

In arts, I often hear people dismiss stuff as “weird.” But what makes something weird other than it doesn’t supply a comforting mirror? Weird is your chance to access something unconventional internally. A lot of people are too atomized and always looking for ego affirmation.

Prices on food have basically doubled since before the pandemic. You could get a lobster roll for $13 then, and it’s $27 now. Not that I care that much about lobster rolls - it’s weird that they’re served cold and on a hot dog bun. But there’s no way this is all inflation.

Another of my Subway Takes is it’s weird not to get the majority of offered vegetables on your sub. You’re at Subway because you’re under the illusion (however false) that it’s healthier than McDonalds. It’s to your advantage to take most of the offered salad items.

Satire may be the most earnest, sentimental genre right now because it disarms the irony-poisoned viewer looking to point out faults. It’s engaging with us in a manner that seemed lost.

My Subway Take is they should let you take as many napkins as you want instead of just giving you one with your sub. And I feel better about leaving tips at Subway than other places because they work in Hell.

I don’t think “found footage” is the correct title for that subgenre, because it implies an offscreen story of people finding footage somewhere. It’s more just like “compiled footage” or “old footage” but neither of those sound as haunting because they lack alliteration.
