This is certainly true. We are all afflicted with the anxiety and general sadness brought in by the current state of our nation.

This Trump administration policy of generating an artificial civil war on the basis of big lies is of course meant to be frightening but it is also anti-American, unlawful, stupid and pursued by wildly unpopular people.

This is due to a law signed by Ronald Reagan and has nothing to do with this shutdown fight. But consider this... Emergency Medicaid spending in 2023 cost $3.8 billion — just 0.4% of total Medicaid spending. Now what about the $20 billion taxpayers are giving to Argentina?

The government has effectively been shut down for months as Trump has destroyed checks and balances, usurped the power of the purse from Congress, and unleashed an authoritarian nightmare throughout the country. Why would any Democrat vote for any continuing resolution that allows this to continue?

The gap between teacher pay and other college graduates’ pay is the highest it’s been in over four decades. Is there a “teacher shortage,” or a shortage of jobs that treat educators with the pay, dignity, and support they deserve?

Airlines merged from 12 major carriers in 1980 to 4 today. Four giants control 80% of meat processing. A handful of companies control the pharmaceutical industry. The evidence of corporate concentration is everywhere. It means more power for them and less freedom for you.

I don’t have a lot of sympathy for very wealthy, privileged people who are capitulating to fascism and/or staying silent because they’re “scared.” People are being dragged out of their homes and people who could be next are *still* speaking up. Silence won’t protect you but it emboldens them
