Thrilled to share Aline-Priscillia Messi’s first PhD paper on how context shapes meaning in the brain! Disambiguated noun/verb stems are neurally organized by syntactic category and context-driven item-specific semantics, not by homonymy or polysemy.

From a single glance at a brief sentence, like a text or an ad slogan, what aspects of the linguistic representation does your brain detect first? Our new results suggest basic phrase structure, as quickly as 125ms. At Science Advances by Jacqui Fallon!
