I've been following the progress of this Orchid since spotting the rosette next to the meadow path. Thought it was another Northern Marsh, but looks like it could be an Early Marsh-orchid with conical formation of the flowers around the stem. #OrchidChallenge #Wildflowerhour

Can anyone help with #Thistle id please? Only found basal rosettes. Initial thought is Cirsium dissectum but no records in the VC. No specialist listed in BSBI Yearbook. Leaf surface & reverse shown. #Wildflowerid

Oh dear, someone came a cropper in the meadow today. I just can't fathom what type of bird it was. All other feathers were white & there's masses of them, so it's at least duck size. I've tried my Ed Drewitt book and Featherbase but can't work it out. #Featherid anyone? @rspbcymru.bsky.social

Ring Ouzel - Hen Borth, Cemlyn, Anglesey 13/04/26. An excellent find by John Dyda. Got there within 30 minutes and the bird showed well at times over the next hour or so. A 2nd bird, plus a Redstart reported from The Range. Only a handful of records of both species each year on Anglesey. #ukbirding

Meet the meadow munchers 🐑 This year we have a larger flock of Texel cross ewes, who will hopefully help keep the grass in control ready for next year's wildflowers to thrive. The only downside is that they eat the young Cow Parsley & Wild Carrot plants.

Common stork's-bill, Erodium cicutarium still managing to flower on a bitterly cold November day. The plant contains saponins which are toxic to fish and amphibians, but are apparently beneficial for several human health conditions. #Wildflowerhour
