One and only SNARC? Spatial-Numerical Associations are not fully flexible and depend on both relative and absolute number magnitude | Royal Society Open Science
Numbers are associated with space, but it is unclear how flexible these associations are. We investigated whether the SNARC effect (Spatial-Numerical Association of Response Codes; Dehaene et al. 1993...

The Raincloud Quartet (new pre-print) All N = 111, M = 0.04, SD = 0.27. One-sided t-tests vs. 0 yield: t(110) = 1.67, p = .049. Only raincloud plots reveal the qualitative differences, preventing the drawing of inappropriate conclusions. How did we create the quartet? Where are data & code? 🧵👇

Paper alert: across 10k participants & 36 versions of the emotional dot probe task, task *reliability* cannot be distinguished from 0 (!). Raises very serious questions about the literature (how did so many find positive relations between this task and other variables).
