Last week, NABTU received a favorable decision in its lawsuit filed over the Department of Defense and GSA's refusal to abide by the PLA Executive Order. DoD and GSA contract solicitations must continue to comply with the PLA Executive Order.

This week, our Second Chance Committee members had the privilege of visiting both the TEPA program and high school students at Green Hill School! We discussed Building Trades unions, apprenticeship, and reentry, and were able to see and hear about the accomplishments of these amazing young men.

On Friday, Governor Bob Ferguson signed HB 1173 into law! This milestone legislation, 5 years in the making, is the result of collaboration with our Affiliates, partners, and stakeholders—and it finally crossed the finish line.

We are deeply saddened by the tragic crash in Washington, D.C., and the loss of five building trades brothers. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the loved ones, friends and colleagues of the victims.

Exciting news!!! Pierce County Central Labor Council's non-profit, has secured a grant to help in their efforts to create a 24-hour childcare facility for construction apprentices. This is a win in the on-going advocacy to reduce childcare barriers for workers with non-standard hours.
