The worst part of this... My company claimed that "we are not replacing people with AI". From one of the Product and Engineering meetings immediately after terminating 21 of us. They said, "We are going to be more productive through AI and focus". Ai and focus... I wanna throw up.

So for those of you who dont know. I get back from ireland. Rush a project i have been working on for months. Only to be let go from my company a few days ago. They are giving me severance and I can apply for unemployment so I have about 4 months to find a job. This economy is not friendly to us.

Whenever something frustrates us at work my coworkers and I just exclaim... "Sanity--" Sanity Minus Minus... It essentially means, this is bullshit and its impacting my mental well being. I really appreciate that my co-workers are conscious of the detriments to thier mental health.

The theme of today at work... "Is this even real life". Can't create an ec2 instance in our sandbox, and dev has been locked down by dev-ops so we cant develop in it. We have to ask for access and get them to build an instance. Then get told we are taking up too much of their time. /tableflip

It was -1º outside. Went for a walk. There were birds. It was windy. I am now back home and under the covers with a heated blanket and some Maltesers.

Okay... Chicken nuggets are basically American McDonalds. Fries come unsalted. Whopper tastes the same. They had this black Angus burger which was honestly one of the best burgers ive ever had. It was like go to for an event sit down restaurant quality. The bag was jalapeño poppers basically.

Okay so today's plan... walk around town for a bit and then we are trying out whatever Irish specialties are at the local Burger King. Basically getting a burger and whatever fuck else is not on the American menu.
