Still in shock over Game 4 yesterday. I don't want this series to end. If it goes 6 or 7 and the games are as close as the first four, this will go down as one of the all-time great Finals, no matter who wins.

Whew! I have no dog in this fight. But glad the Spurs got one today. This series has been much closer than a 3-0 lead would have appeared. The way the teams have played, we deserve a six or seven game series of this quality.

Late to the party, but Dispatch is “phenomenal” (IYKYK). It’s another light on gameplay, heavy on story and atmosphere game. I kept wanting to get through the game portion to get back to the story. Compared notes with a friend and we had significantly different endings which was cool.

The only thing that hallucinates more than an LLM is a topical YouTuber, the worst of which are topical YouTubers talking about LLMs... pro or con.

So thankful to Jamie of @thesecretcabal.bsky.social who turned me on to Mixtape. It’s a short visual novel (ish) style video game with some very smart and deftly executed story telling. Lots of really fun moments. Ambiguous in all the best ways.

Finished Questron (Commodore 64 version). Man.. what a gem. It was super solid start to finish. From the lore/clues in the manual all the way through. My only gripe is the final 15 floor dungeon full of the designer hating the player. Ending was worth it though.

40 years later. Never played the original Ultima. Only dinked around with 3 and 4 when I was a youngster. Between this and Mother, I have hankering to play some more "manual-driven" games. There's something very satisfyingly "analog" about playing an offline game where you have to study a manual.

We're going to get to the point where the majority of us are going to accidentally/carelessly use AI for every daily task. At my day job, it's completely taken over. It's in every app and process. However it's still the job of the expert to sift for quality. The good designers will still stand out.
