🗣️VIRGINIA!!! A positive TB case has been confirmed within Rockingham County Schools. This case was active in the past and is *not* actively spreading. BUT they are still doing contact tracing to see if anyone has a latent infection (which means they have TB in their bodies but it’s basically sleep)

Therapy, state specific assistance with gathering records and finding biological family, assistance w/ navigating genetic testing for health, support groups, and a section with adoptees sharing their stories. Nobody thinks of us. So I will. 🥚 (3/3)

Storytelling is a huge aspect of the Black community. At GeneHouse, we use narrative medicine techniques to bring a voice to our family health history narratives. With the trust of the community, we hope to implement precision health and literally save lives. Join us on this journey! 💚💙 (5/5)

Along with the clinical recommendations, users will also have access to content that focuses on Black health and Black families. Things like teaching family members to associate hearing “I have sugar” with a diabetes diagnosis. Or “bad nerves” with anxiety. Or preventative care guidelines. (3/5)

Users can record/write their family health history and our team of genetic counselors will provide a risk assessment and recommendations for clinical care. We will also be insurance eligible and have options for ppl without insurance. (2/5)

I see the news about 23andMe and it just reaffirms my purpose to build a place that Black ppl can TRUST with their family health history. We been steadily building for years but @genehouseco.bsky.social is on the way yall. I promise. 💙💚
