It was a pleasure to escape to Liška's world and explore his legacy for The Guardian as this month Animal Music releases the second volume of his archives. Liška could go camp or avant-garde, but "he never phoned in", thinks Petr Ostrouchov, who serves currently as a caretaker of his archive.
