Brilliant winger, loved him at United. He would have been a great wingback too.

I'll always have time for Coppell, his career was tragically short. He was an out and out winger, but I'd also say he'd be perfect in a front 3 or even as a wing back. Wouldn't get change out of £80m for him in today's game. My number 7, his shirt number was stolen from him.

Had two careers at United. One as a flying winger, then more central. I was too young to see him playing for United but what I've seen of him in re runs, he was a superb talent. I think having Robson definitely softened the blow of losing him

Whilst not the worst manager I've seen at United, his football was. Gone was the flowing football of Doc, gone were some of the brilliant young talents. Which in turn hampered the next manager

His style was actually decades ahead of its time....boring, football tactical chess. Similar to what we have now where individuality and off the cuff brilliance are buried in tactical positioning and game plans.

Was a match going red in the Sexton era. He actually lasted 4 full seasons. it wasn't that he didn't win any trophies, it was that he set United up not to lose rather than go out to win games. The club was too big for him & for many others who followed.

I agree mate. Yet all he has is a small red plaque on the railway bridge next to OT. You'd miss it if you weren't looking for it. Thousands of reds pass it every match day either not noticing it or not knowing who he was. That's almost a crime.

This lad more than deserves a mention for so many reasons. Bailed United out, hired Sir Matt Busby, rebuilt Old Trafford after the Germans flattened it. And probably most importantly, started United's youth academy. We owe James Gibson so much yet he's rarely mentioned.

Followed by a long period of depression far worse than even the post Busby and post Fergie eras!
