It took me forever, but I finally finished this manuscript-inspired knitted cowl and while it’s not perfect it was an excellent Learning Experience.

I’ve been enjoying documenting the sights of southern VA

Absolutely nothing beats the absolute rush of unpacking the university library book you feared you accidentally sold to half-price books. Obviously the lesson I took away from this is do not get rid of the books, ever, for any reason; in fact, keep all of the books, forever.

Calling any pottery/ceramic conservation folks: my mom inherited some of her great-grandmother’s china, and the sugar bowl is really discolored. She found a website suggesting soaking it in hydrogen peroxide, but I told her to wait to get a second opinion. Thoughts on how to proceed?

I unexpectedly lost my best girl last night and I am absolutely heartbroken.

There was another woman in sweatpants at Half Price Books on a Saturday night and we studiously avoided eye contact and I feel like we would be friends if we weren’t both the kind of people who go to Half Price Books in sweatpants on a Saturday night.
