"Minor coded" logic being made into policy is so ridiculous. There are real life adults who have body proportions and features that others might label "commonly associated with minors". This policy, in an insidious effort to morally police people, casts such a wide net that it captures *adults*.

It's hard to put into words how much of a difference you can make to someone's day simply by reading a story they wrote, sharing it, and telling them that you liked it. Not only is the reading itself a worthwhile pleasure, it's also just a wonderful gift. It's so worth doing

as i've been saying!! everyone loves their weird ferrari clown nose so much they jumped to calling it what it wasn't. there was no way ferrari was beating the merc in the long game in melbourne, anyway. ferrari had a perfect race for them no notes. what they need is an improved PU/merc's PU nerfed.

idk who needs to hear this today but "kill your darlings" doesn't mean to kill off your characters! it's part of the editing process in which you might have sentences, paragraphs, or even chapters you really like but ultimately don't serve enough narrative purpose that they're better off cut!

in the last year especially i've become more vocal about how we absolutely under no conditions can allow for censorship of artistic expression (especially in though not limited to nsfw cases). this affects everyone, and the lesson today is: they will come for you. they won't stop at "gross" porn.

i once got asked by some puritanical weirdo: "Why are you so defensive of [weird porn]" (I think it was lolis but it might have been dub/non-con) - and, the answer is two fold 1) any system that stamps out "bad porn" is going to be used on all artistic expression and you by the worst people

2) the human brain is fucked up and weird and you don't have a choice in what turns you on. you DO have a choice in *how* you engage with that fact. A healthy relationship with sexuality means knowing how, when, and why you engage with fantasies and finding people who share your fantasies

not enough people pissed off about the "child coded proportions". say goodbye to size difference! say goodbye to flat busts. never mind if the character is ostensibly and irrefutably adult--if they're 5ft tall and have a bust smaller than B-cups they're a child now! bc we say so! pathetic.

honestly nothing illustrates fandom’s shortcomings like a post that goes “hey guys quick tip for fic writers :) this is how dialogue tags work” with a friendly tone and no particular fic pointed at generating days of discourse involving people acting like grammar tips are mean and an attack on them

when you reach the point where neutral grammar advice is too great a criticism for you to withstand and it makes you aggrieved and angry you are just…reactionary. being opposed to even the gentlest of implied criticism will lead you nowhere good. that is, to be frank, the conservative ethos
