Something special happened this spring in Montreal, and it wasnât just the Canadiensâ magical ride to the Eastern Conference final. Just as notable was what was going on in the streets. There were a new wave of younger Canadiens fans ready carry the torch.

Canes added Stankoven, Ehlers and Miller to an already solid core and it worked. So Habs fans who think itâs time to go Bergy mode and exile guys as punishment for making us sad, itâs not that time.

Impressive season for the Habs, but I gotta admit watching the ECF I do think the core is still missing an x-factor. Even the Canes added Stankoven and Ehlers to an already solid group.

Habs made big strides this season but like Washington last spring theyâve hit a wall in Carolina and theyâll need another year or two of improvement to get over that hump.
