To absolutely no one's surprise, Geoff Molson has announced that the Canadiens have re-signed both Jeff Gorton and Kent Hughes to multi-year contract extensions. Molson also announced that Gorton becomes president of hockey operations. You won't see any fans complaining about this.

Just filed my piece on the documentary Who Killed the Montreal Expos? It screens again at the Festival du nouveau cinéma Sunday at 12:15 at Quartier Latin and then premieres on Netflix Oct. 21. It's a whodunnit on the demise of the Expos. Must-viewing.

Big Habs broadcast news. Canadiens have signed a long-term multi-year deal to have Habs games on TSN and RDS. TSN gets 50 games a season, RDS 45. Open secret TVA Sports wanted to get more than just the Saturday night game and clearly that didn't happen.
