Is there a better feeling in game dev than finally tracking down a piece of code that was causing performance dips? It’s been eluding me for two months. Now my game runs at a stable 30 fps, and I’m about to bump it up to 50. Silky smooth!

I've been rewriting my website for zola after updating my npm packages yesterday creating numerous dependency issues and breaking changes. It's been a lot of effort, but I think the complete lack of dependencies for a static site is absolutely worth it for the easier maintenance long-term.

Does anyone have an opinion on writing a production-ready backend server with TypeScript & express vs Rust & axum for reading and writing to a database via REST endpoints? Interested in tradeoffs.

@bumbleborn.bsky.social I got a stack trace on echo when getting a fourth heart piece. It only happened once. After relaunching the game, I was able to pick it up successfully.
