I love playing with new tech. I’ve used a fair number of the current AI code assistants. I first played with Tabnine years ago, long before GitHub Copilot was a thing. I think all of them currently leave much to be desired, but Cursor is my current tool of choice.

I've spent a stupid amount of time thinking about what programming language is best. At a previous company, where it made a lot of sense, I was convinced it was Rust. Later I favored the readability of Go. More recently, I've begun to settle on it not mattering. I just hope you enjoy your tool.

Kubernetes is complicated. Distributed systems have always been complicated. If you feel it's TOO complicated, maybe you're at the wrong layer of the stack to solve your problem.

Confessions of an imposter: When I don't know, I try to shut up and listen. This works to positive result an amazing proportion of the time.

Confessions of an imposter: I'm pretty good with tech, but I am abysmal with names and people. It's incredibly embarrassing to find out you're talking to the CEO of a company hosting a party, and you had no idea, zero. Done that.

Java (and Kotlin) has the best developer experience. If you haven't worked in an experience code base with JetBrains' IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate, you're missing out. So why am I getting to write Rust and TypeScript in Neovim? I just can't help myself. 🙃

My social media conundrum: I want to be here. I want to follow people. But... I can't follow anyone who posts TOO much as I can't, or won't, keep up.
