Jurjânîya - The cold of hell We saw a land which made us think a gate to the cold of hell had opened before us. When snow falls, it is always accompanied by a rough and violent wind.

A COZY DWELLING - SO MANY COLORS #prehistovember2025 I joined two prompts together to imagine the appearance of an Iron Age hut. A hearth, herbs, warm blankets, things for weaving and a sleepy scruffy dog by your side are the epitome of coziness and what everybody needs to be happy in my opinion.

MADE OF STONE #prehistovember2025 One of my favourite places to hike to is marked by many peculiar stones, both natural (although local legends state they were dropped by the devil himself when he went to build the Roman aqueduct in Soria -go figure) and man-carved.

NEW ACQUAINTANCES #prehistovember2025 Almost 40,000 years ago the first "modern humans" arrived in Europe and found it was already populated. Artifacts suggest there might have been an exchange of either material goods. Current genetics confirm sapiens and H. neanderthals exchanged more than tools 😏

LEAVING A PRINT #prehistovember2025 Did you know that 80,000 years ago a group of #neanderthals composed mainly by #children were walking on the beach at Le Rozel, in Normandy? ........... 🎨 This illustration is fully painted in #watercolor on a 18 x 25 cm paper and the original is for sale.

DRESSED TO IMPRESS #prehistovember2025 Jumping to a more recent prehistory to bring you a bit of #IronAge bling✨ This is a depiction of an #Iberian woman inspired by the Lady of Cerro de los Santos. Fully painted in #watercolor on 25 x 36 cm paper. Original painting for sale.

A FULL MEAL #prehistovember2025 This illustration is based on the #paleodiet of my ancient fellow countrywoman, the Red Lady of El Mirón, which consisted of meat, different kinds of mushrooms and salmon. She would have also completed her meals with vegetables and fruits available at the time.

Had a great time last week talking about my workflow to create scientific reconstructions of prehistory along author Pedro Lima and researcher Verónica Fernández. I'm so looking forward to future collaborations with these wonderful people.

Last week I taught at my first #archaeologydrawing workshop during the Tribus del Íber Fest in the north of Spain. ¡It was great! So thankful for everyone who joined me and spent a beautiful evening drawing, chatting about artifacts and discussing the role of #artists in #archaeology.
