Did not expect it to be so explicit and sexual, but I can’t say it wasn’t a welcome surprise. Lotay’s art switching between digital pencils and more realistic brush paintings depending on the scene was such a unique experience. This is Cloonan at her absolute best. Incredible book

Just read Love’s Lightning Heart for the first time and god damn nobody does it like Morrison. The way they can get me so invested in this world with less than 10 pages is just unbelievable

READ DEADLY CLASS

11. Matt Fraction, Gabriel Bá and Fábio Moon's Casanova. Weird, silly and emotionally honest in an often heartbreaking way. Basically spy comics by way of Federico Fellini, and just absutely perfect.

8. Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie's Phonogram. I am deeply in love with comics. I am also deeply in love with music. Phonogram is the perfect comic for those of us who love these two mediums.

Spurrier Flash is a better Spider-Man story than any actual (mainline) Spider-Man story from the last decade.

4. This book hit me and crawled inside the same way that Watchmen did. I have read A LOT of comics/graphic novels, and this one stands out as one of THE books of its generation. This aint an easy book, it takes thought/work to digest (again, like Watchmen), and it's worth every moment of that time.

Give this book every award possible and more idc that it’s not out yet!
