I just learned of the passing of an old friend of mine - Steve Hibbert. We met in HS and stayed friends for several years. The last time I saw him was in the mid-80’s but we spoke after I saw him as #thegimp in Pulp Fiction. One of the funniest people I’ve ever known. He will be missed.

Just finished Artemis, Andy Weir’s second novel. It was… ok. Not nearly as good as either The Martian or Project Hail Mary. Still full of fun and believable science though, as one would expect from Weir.

1/2 It’s a grey rainy day and my wage and I wanted to see a movie. Not much out there so we decided on Solo Mio with Kevin James. Fluffy romcom in a beautiful setting - what’s not to like? Then it started and awe realized it was from that Christian studio that puts out religious movies.

#martysupreme is an awful movie. It is about, and was made for fragile white dudes who think they are “misunderstood” when they are simply tools. It tells an uninteresting story about a guy who is a jerk and every obstacle he has to overcome is of his own making. That said, the cast is excellent.

My wife and I watched a move called “A Merry Little Ex-mas” and it has inspired us. We are now on a quest to find a holiday movie worse that that one. My wife is optimistic but I have doubts.
