Logan frowned, staying quiet for a second. “I’m not gonna lie t’ya there, Cain. You were.” He turned and looked up at him. “But he’d be proud of you. Yer doin’ the right thing by him.” He reached into jacket pocket and lit a cigar, handing it to Cain. “Earned this.”

Lighting a cigar. Finally. Quiet time.

“Some motherfucker who thinks he’s Doctor Frankenstein.” He started to follow the trail. “Say— what made you into a babyface anyway, Marko? Girl break your heart? Realize the errors of pillaging villages?”

“Yeah.” Logan crouched down and took a whiff. Some sulfur, some metal. “Gonna be a pain in the ass. Smells like undead robot to me, Jughead.”

“If ya feel inclined to turn some ninjas into paste, be my guest.” He popped all his bones back into place. “First gotta find where they came from.”

“Not sure yet.” Logan sat up, rolling his shoulder to pop it back into place. “G’na find out.”
