I got some fluorescent paints to do OSL on miniatures, but I was struggling with blue. Why so dingy and flat? I'm laughing after watching a Vince Venturella video on fluo paints. "They're great," he says, "except blue," and he literally flicks it off his desk and doesn't mention it again.

We Bury The Dead was very well done, but I can see why it did poorly, I don't think zombie genre audiences are expecting films about grief and closure. It's not the heart-pounding horror-survival most of the genre is doing.

You didn't ask, but my favorite simple way to handle a PC attempting to persuade an NPC is to: 1. Hear what the PC says 2. Decide what the most and least favorable reactions the NPC might have to that 3. Let the PC's skill check decide between those.

We watched the old Interview with the Vampire, then Prime decided to auto-play the TV show as a chaser. That's a hell of a contrast. Seeing TV Lestat made it all make sense, that guy totally kills that role. I thought we were going to get some Murdoch Mysteries villain, then he speaks.. jesus.

My gosh this is entertaining, right up my alley. Insane amounts of gaming fodder. Also kind of depressing, because the stakes to those involved are rendered so well. Bracing myself for a dismal ending.

There's a neat thing in Dark that I won't spoil, but a certain sound starts out much like mood-building for thr audience, but becomes a diegetic thing that gives a information to everyone In The Know when it happens. This is underused in RPGs! 🧵

Watched Krull (1983) last night, and it's interesting to treat its rather odd worldbuilding as ~incompletely revealed~ rather than slapdash. There are some really interesting things about it.

I genuinely cannot suggest this book enough, I run DND for 10 to 12-year-olds at a local game store and I’ve been using these adaptable one pagers over and over again. Every word and image is evocative, and they can just as easily become a complete campaign.

this is a hell of a deal - there's so much weird/unsettling/fascinating/enwondering content in this book. if you're into osr-type stuff, vancian fancy, ultraviolet grasslands etc you'll recoup that nine bucks of value in about 15min of reading, methinks.

Big missed opportunity in the third Maze Runner movie to have the protagonists do the chase/fight scenes in the med building using maze running skills. A scene burned in my mind part of me longs to recreate in an RPG is from Day of the Triffids: holed up in an apartment, the characters spy a distant light across the darkened city. They scratch the window to mark the direction, and in the daylight they see it came from a distant building. 💙
