I really think this was a great choice to be the end of the album, feels like a great conclusion.

Jim - We tried to change the main chords up to go in to a chorus but with us having so many good vocal melodies around the original 4 chords, we decided to just stick to the four chords and let the vocals do the heavy lifting.

Some bands write wedding songs. We write divorce songs haha - It’s a break up song for adults.

Jim- I then and then asked Aaron to as lib some vocal melody over the top and within 2 minutes he had around 7 different variations all of which were amazing.

Jim - Kurt played this little picky guitar tune in rehearsal and I remember us having a conversation whilst Kurt was playing and we weren’t paying attention at first but then realised it had something to it.

Our Song Is Sung- The last in the album!

Love this one - it’s the most kaleidoscopic thematically - it’s a collection of ideas, more than one central message.

Jim - when playing the tune on its new structure it felt like it just raced along so we decided to add the little stops in the “break your heart” sections just to give the track some breathing space.

Jim - originally the end section was a chorus on our demo and we weren’t fully happy with it so we went back to the rehearsal room and came up with the “loved you then” chorus.

You can see it’s about our relationships with our parents and society's expectations of what it is to be a man.

Loved You Then- This one is about economic hardship…

In my head I had a vision of Trump and Musk waltzing in the Oval Office - pretty surreal.

It’s about corporate interest in politics - written long before the rise of the very visible tech oligarchy in the US - feels ironic to be writing on X.

Puppets - This one’s an overtly political one…

Again this song is about disorientation and a lack of control - emphasised by the spinning melody in the chorus here.

We decided to add the big sections at the end of the track as it felt right to build towards a big release.

Love Kurt’s backing vocals on the chorus of this one - they make the chorus really powerful and are brilliant live.

Love the Nile Rodgers-style guitars we incorporated in.
