The Economist was not alone, at all, in its terrible both-sidering of the “free speech” debate, but this cover is basically a Platonic Ideal of “aged like milk.” On the left: students yelling at speakers. On the right: state power used to silence speech.

People all across the political spectrum literally do think that white rural dwellers lives are worth more than urbanites, significantly so. Their votes count more, they get more money spent on them, and even when they vote to kill themselves and everyone else, we should die so that they might live.

I think you can explain this far more easily. Most R's are more afraid of primaries than they are general elections. Nothing in these numbers suggests that R's hitching their boat to Trump at this moment will be in danger in primaries. He needs to be dipping into the low 70's with Rs.

This should really be 101 stuff though. If you quote an unambiguously factually false statement like “money will flown into the U.S.” because of tariffs, and you don’t immediately TELL the audience it is false, you are lying to your audience. That it’s a quote is not an excuse.
