I loathe shopping. My husband has been getting calls all day from a private number, and when he answers, they're speaking in a language we don't understand. Started at 5am. But he can't block the number because it's private. Very annoying.

Waking up to the news that my husband's work (where he has worked for 16 years) is going into liquidation on Thursday.

Very frustrating to be in an hour long traffic jam to finally discover the accident holding you up is in fact across the concrete barrier on the other carriageway, and we all only slowed down for a gawp at it

Sometimes I look at my daughter, sorting out her uni accommodation, doing her volunteering, and generally bossing life and I feel sad that she doesn't need me anymore. Other times she texts me from upstairs at 11.30pm to rescue her from anlittle moth in her room.

Had a productive day. I painted a chair that has needed painting for 20 years, and I used some tension rods and macrame things to hang some of my plants in the window (making room for more plants). I also spilled candle wax all over my shirt, the bathroom door, the landing floor and my hair, but nvm

My characters are currently reeling from an absolute battering. They're cold, hungry, tired, scared shitless, and covered in blood. Maybe I'll let them recover for a little while, if they're good.

Since my dog passed, a neighbourhood cat has taken to climbing onto the flat roof at the side of my house to sun himself. He's there so often my neighbour just told me she saw my new cat trying to get in the bathroom window last night.

My (super talented and awesome) daughter needed a planner but couldn't find one that met her needs, so she made her own and I'm so impressed! It's over 400 pages, so it lasts a year but can be started any time because you write the date in yourself, and it is soo pretty, look

Yesterday's side quest was to get husband's bike fixed. Had to take it to birmingham (quite far from us) so I had to get up at 4am to take him to meet his brother (who can drive the work van) to get it there. I went home, fell asleep on the sofa,and woke up again at 8 to him calling to be picked up

Yknow what's nice tho? Whenever I run into trouble, there are always good people around. A man came out of his house to offer my husband some tools and check we were OK. Another guy stopped when I broke down and helped me push my car out of the way of traffic so I felt safer.

I spent most of today sitting by the road, waiting for breakdown people to arrive to rescue husband, whose bike broke down (luckily while I was following him in the car). A couple of hours ago he told me to go home and sort out the kids tea, and come back for him later. 5 miles later I broke down.
